Robert Peak began his visual arts career in 1987 with a graphic design studio in Washington, D.C.  Restless to see more of the world than he could in two-week vacations, he sold his business in 1993 to travel around the world by bicycle with his wife.  Their four-year odyssey took them through 22 countries in Europe, Africa, Asia, New Zealand and North America.  Early in their trip, Peak became enchanted with the camera.  Photography revealed a way to look beyond the “sights” and “see” the essence in not only the exotic but the commonplace.

After returning to the United States and settling in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia, Peak reopened his studio doors, this time incorporating commercial photography as well as graphic design. Peak’s award-winning photos and designs is a mix rarely found in contemporary studios, and his reputation is founded not only on his effective works, but his responsiveness to his clients’ needs and schedules.
